The SL 55 AMG: A high performance-roadster, stands out due its unique dynamic superiority and its exclusive luxury sportcar design. With it's 5.5 liter engine the new developed AMG V8 Kompressor engine generates an output of 350 kW/476 hp, its maximum turning movement is from an impressive 516 lb-ft of torque at only 2650 all the way up to 4500 RPM. Acceleration in the SL 55 AMG from 0 - 60 mph takes only 4.5 seconds.

The AMG Sport Chassis is built on the Active Body Control System (ABC) and incorporates the new AMG High performance break system. The ideal combination of electronics and hydraulics in the newly developed AMG braking system guarantees that the SL 55 AMG's power is always under control. The oversized perforated and ventilated inboard discs with 8-piston calipers in front and 4 in rear, have been modified to match the SL 55 AMG's high level of performacne. Together with the Sensotronic Brake Control they ensure exceptional braking.

Emissions ratings below EU 4 limits have been achieved by filtering exhaust through two firewall- and two undercarriage-mounted catalytic converters. The dual flow AMG exhaust system culminates in sporty chrome twin tailpipes, responsible for the SL 55 AMG's sporty sound.
